Music Therapy Philosophy
My clinical approach is client centered and strengths based. This entails being attentive, empathetic, understanding, and meeting clients where they are, while still recognizing their strengths and areas of need. My conceptualization of my work changes as I adapt to each client and setting I am in. But, no matter where I am, I strive to embody my core values: effectiveness, service, and empathy. These principles offer guidance in every decision I make in and out of sessions. My purpose is to create an environment where my clients feel safe, heard, challenged, and empowered in music therapy.
