Music Therapy Philosophy
My clinical approach is client centered and strengths based. This entails being attentive, empathetic, understanding, and meeting the client where they are, while still recognizing their strengths and areas of need. The way I conceptualize clinical work may change as I adapt to each client and setting I am in, though my values have a more consistent impact on my philosophy, no matter where I go. Effectiveness, service, and empathy stand as my core values when it comes to clinical work. These principles offer guidance in every decision I make, in and out of sessions. I want my clients to feel safe, heard, challenged, and empowered in music therapy.
